Čvrsnica Mountain, as a part of mountains representing Dinaric extension of the Swiss Alps, is located in northern Herzegovina. It has more than ten summits above 2000 m. Its highest peak – Pločno (2228masl) is actually the highest mountain peak in all Herzegovina and bears the name „Herzegovina’s roof top”. Čvrsnica also hides beautiful lakes: Blidinje, Crepulja and Crvenjak. Its bio-life is characteristic with numerous endemic species (like Munika Pine) and is also known as a home of chamois.

We find it as the ideal place for all those who desire silence, wilderness and mountain peacefulness, complemented only with sounds of wind and hidden forest inhabitants..

Included

Transport from Mostar to the starting point of mountain trail and back, English speaking, fully equipped and experienced mountain guide, accommodation in mountain hut and dinner at local national restaurant on the second day.

Equipment for winter hiking and ski touring, sleeping bag, winter outdoor clothes, warm gloves, hat and sun protection crème and sun glasses.

Departure and return

From your accommodation site at 6:00 am where our guide will be greeting and transporting you to your starting point. We return 8:00 pm to your accommodation site

Program

The Tour

High mountains in Herzegovina region are ideal for ski touring as they are covered with plenty of snow in winter. This tour starts in Nature Park Blidinje (1300 masl) from where our path leads through high forest and pretty soon we arrive to the higher grounds between 1500 and 2000 masl suitable for ski touring. After a day in the mountains we check in in to Mountain Hut Vilinac (1960 masl) for the overnight stay. Next morning we resume our tour through central part of Čvrsnica (500 ascent) with views to the highest mountain peaks and after a day of skiing we return along different route to the Nature Park Blidinje for a warm dinner with traditional national dishes of Herzegovina and we drive back to Mostar.
